  TIME OF MY LIFE by Alan Ayckbourn
Rotherham Civic Theatre commencing 15th September 2009

Time Of My Life is vintage Ayckbourn, dealing with the all-too-familiar theme of the decline and fall of a successful family business and the ensuing financial and emotional troubles this brings. It is Laura Stratton's fifty-fourth birthday and a small family celebration has been organised by her husband Gerry at their favourite restaurant. All seems quiet on the domestic front. However, in Ayckbourn country wherever two or three are gathered together in the name of family togetherness... then the trouble begins...

Following their unbelievable production of "Murder at Checkmate Manor", the Ladies of the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomens Guild Dramatic Society have still managed to return to the Civic Theatre. Their latest self-penned masterpiece is an elegant 30's style musical comedy which sets out to prove the era of glamour and enchantment is not dead. However, as fans of the Guild will know, all may not go according to plan.


 
 
  TWELFTH NIGHT by William Shakespeare
Rotherham Civic Theatre commencing 2nd March 2010

Hailed by many scholars to be the finest comedy ever written. Twelfth Night deals with mistaken identity, cross dressing, the bringing down of pomposity and the fashion statement of yellow stockings cross-gartered. A number of plots and sub-plots involving Sir Toby Belch, Feste the clown, the twins Viola and Sebastian, Maria the maid and the evil Malvolio make this one of Shakespeare's funniest and most popular comedies.


 

 
  A TRIPLE BILL OF COMEDIES by David Tristham

JOINING THE CLUB Tells the story of a highly successful career woman who becomes unexpectedly expectant. This is the night that Jenny plans to reveal the results of her home pregnancy test to her husband, Tom. But he has some startling news of his own!
LAST TANGO IN LITTLE GRIMLEY. Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society is in trouble. The membership has dwindled to four - the audiences aren't much bigger - and if they don't come up with some rent money soon, they're going to be thrown out. "There's only one thing that sells tickets these days" argues Gordon the Chairman. "Sex!" 
BRENTON VERSUS BRENTON  What is the dark secret which enflames the Brenton family feud? Who is the mysterious Eddie? Why are Lana's shoulderpads wider than the door? And just what was Deke Brenton doing down on the farm? All this, and more, is revealed in this outrageous spoof of American soaps and blockbuster mini-series, set in the manic world of Chicago's biggest ad agency.


 
 
  WUTHERING HEIGHTS adapted from Emily Bronte by Jane Thornton
Rotherham Civic Theatre commencing 6th July 2010

The classic tale of the all-encompassing  and passionate, yet thwarted, love between Heathcliffe and Catherine Earnshaw and how this unresolved passion eventually destroys them and many around them. in this modern adaptation, originally devised for Hull Truck Theatre company, Jane Thornton's innovative approach loses none of the intensity, nor the beauty and depth of Emily Bronte's enduring love story.
